Refresher training aimed at maintaining and updating the skills acquired during ATEX level 2 training.
It reactivates the fundamentals of explosion risk and consolidates critical actions: reading zoning and marking of equipment, procedures to follow and supervision of an intervention in an ATEX zone.
Goals
- Reactivate knowledge about the ATEX phenomenon and the conditions for the formation of an explosive atmosphere.
- Update the procedures to be followed in ATEX zones and the obligations regarding access.
- To consolidate the identification and reading of markings on certified equipment and the different modes of protection.
- Review the tools not authorized in ATEX zones and the precautions to be taken for installation and maintenance.
- Confirm the procedure to follow in case of intervention on certified equipment in an ATEX zone.
- Refresh knowledge of ATEX risks specific to your establishment.
- Update knowledge of the establishment's ATEX organization: instructions, zoning, signage, equipment, DRPCE.
Program
Theoretical content:
- Consequences of an explosion and key lessons learned.
- Regulations: European directives and Labour Code; obligations of access in areas at risk of explosion.
- Definition of an explosive atmosphere and conditions of formation (LEL, LSE); sources of ignition; role of ventilation.
- Identification and classification of zones: gases and vapors (0, 1, 2), dust (20, 21, 22); signage.
- Prevention measures and safety instructions.
- Marking of materials, tools and equipment; various ATEX markings and modes of protection.
- Tools not authorized in ATEX zone; precautions for installation and maintenance.
- ATEX organization of the establishment and Document Relating to Protection Against Explosions (DRPCE).
Practical application
- Reading and identifying ATEX markings in concrete cases.
- Updating or writing a work instruction on a company workstation.
- Updating or drafting a work permit for an intervention in an ATEX zone, and supervision of the intervention.
Evaluation and validation methods
A multiple-choice questionnaire must be completed at the end of the training; passing it is a condition for receiving the individual certificate of completion of the training.
Target audience
Anyone who has already completed ATEX level 2 training and is required to supervise a team in an ATEX zone and to work on ATEX certified equipment.
Prerequisites
Having completed the initial ATEX level 2 training.
Recycling is recommended every 3 years.
