Goals
The objectives of the First Intervention Team (EPI) Prevention training are to strengthen the immediate intervention of the PTI (First Intervention Team) with fire extinguishers and fire hose reels:
- Implement the establishment's prevention measures
- Knowing how to intervene safely
- To carry out an effective intervention in the event of a fire using first response equipment
Program
Theoretical section
- Identify the origins and consequences of a fire
- Preventive measures aimed at preventing fires and explosions
- Small group teaching exercise
- Securing or evacuating the occupants
- Fire protection measures: compartmentation, smoke extraction, first response equipment, second response equipment
- To fulfill one's role as a first response team member in accordance with the establishment's safety organization
- Identify the establishment's security organization and the role of each person
- The intervention of the first response team member
- Recognizing fire classes
- Knowing how to respond to a Li-ion battery fire
- Knowing the different fire extinguishing agents and first response methods
- Locate the security devices of a building
Practical section
- Exercises to implement first response procedures in accordance with the establishment's security organization guidelines
- Intervention on flame generator
Evaluation and validation methods
Multiple-choice questions (minimum 16/20) and practical cases
Target audience
The EPI training is intended for industrial or public access building staff who may be required to fight a fire using fire extinguishers or fire hose reels (RIA) and to organize the evacuation.
