- Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and firefighting gear.
- Implement firefighting measures adapted to the second intervention.
- To intervene effectively and safely in the face of a fire, in support of PPE, with appropriate techniques (this objective will only be fully achieved at the end of the second part of the training, ref. PR-LCF-3).
Program
Theory
- Fire phenomenon.
- Extinguishing agents and firefighting equipment suitable for second-response operations.
- Organization of ESI intervention according to the APSAD R6 standard (general course of operations).
- Respiratory tract protection.
Practical
- Limits of intervention with fire extinguishers, handling of fire extinguishers and fire hose reels.
- Implementation of hydraulic equipment (water and foam installations) and extinguishing of solid and liquid fires.
- Wearing of SCBA with adaptation on outdoor routes and in smoky environments.
- Understanding the constraints of wearing personal protective equipment in hot and smoky environments
- Reconnaissance techniques under ARI.
- Complete team intervention scenarios of progressive difficulty (outdoors, in large volumes and in indoor environments).
Evaluation and validation methods
Practical exercise (setting up SCBA, fire extinguishing with a fire extinguisher, fire hose reel if available)
