This e-learning refresher course is designed to maintain and update skills acquired during training in Legionella risk prevention and management. It reinforces understanding of the disease, at-risk facilities (ECS, TAR), treatments, monitoring, and the regulatory framework.
Goals
- Reactivate knowledge about Legionella, Legionnaires' disease and the conditions for proliferation.
- Update the identification of installations at risk (domestic hot water and cooling towers) and points of vigilance.
- Consolidate the principles of risk control: temperature, treatments and disinfection (oxidizing and non-oxidizing biocides).
- Review the sizing of the DHW networks, the monitoring of the installations and the health logbook.
- Confirm risk management, PPE and regulatory benchmarks (ECS decree, ICPE 2921, role of the AMR).
Program
- Legionnaires' disease: bacteria, disease, routes of contamination and risk factors.
- Microbiology and physico-chemistry of water; development temperatures and areas of vigilance.
- Installations at risk: cooling towers (CT), aerosolization, demisters; domestic hot water (DHW).
- Treatments: effect of temperature, surfactants, oxidizing (chlorine, bromine, chlorine dioxide) and non-oxidizing biocides; disinfection.
- Sizing and architecture of DHW networks (looping, DTU) and terminal points.
- Risk management, PPE and respiratory masks.
- Monitoring of facilities, indicators, microbiological controls and health logbook.
- Regulatory framework: decree of February 1, 2010 (ECS), ICPE regulation 2921 (TAR), role of the AMR.
Practical application
- Case studies (closed DHW network, cooling tower, treatment and monitoring plan).
- Multiple-choice questions and annotated answers.
Evaluation and validation methods
A multiple-choice questionnaire is administered at the end of the training; passing it is a condition for receiving the individual certificate of achievement.
Target audience
Operation and maintenance personnel of hazardous installations (domestic hot water, cooling towers), technical managers and persons in charge of monitoring (AMR).
Prerequisites
Having completed the initial training in legionella risk prevention, which is currently valid or needs to be renewed.
