Essential equipment on a construction site, head protection now incorporates sensors that warn an operator of the presence of toxic gas emissions. This means that multi-gas detectors, previously carried in jacket or trouser pockets (with the risk of them falling, being torn off, or damaging the sensors), are now fully integrated into the helmet.
This system allows for forgetfulness (the worker can more easily forget their sensors on site than their helmet) and also provides better protection for the sensors due to the additional protection of the helmet.
Some even incorporate glasses or a visor on which augmented reality information is displayed.
Of course, these very useful technological advances are combined with existing helmet technologies, and in particular those equipped with frequency-filtering hearing protection which allow you to hear very clearly in the helmet the instructions of a site manager or a control tower, even when a jackhammer is being used 5 meters from the operator or when a plane is taking off on the tarmac.
