Employer obligation to train staff in contact with hazardous chemicals and carcinogenic, mutagenic or reprotoxic substances.

Goals

  1. Identify chemical hazards and decode the CLP label
  2. Understanding the health effects: routes of exposure, acute/chronic toxicity, CMRs
  3. Relating volatility, vapor density and flash point to exposure, fire and ATEX risks
  4. Using a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) to select PPE, EPC, and instructions
  5. Apply the rules for storage, transfer, waste and basic ADR regulations

  • Regulatory context: REACH, CLP, labor code
  • Hazardous chemicals: identify the risks and CLP and ADR pictograms
  • Information on hazardous chemicals: the SDS and the simplified SDS
  • Chemical risk prevention and protection measures:
    • The 9 general principles of prevention
    • PPE and EPC
    • Staff training
    • The choice of products in the purchasing process
  • Storage, handling and transfer rules
  • Job description:
    • Workplace information
    • Customer site visit

Evaluation and validation methods

At the end of the training, each trainee will take an evaluation test in the form of a 20-question multiple-choice questionnaire.
Successful completion of this test will result in the issuance of an individual certificate of completion of the training.
