To limit musculoskeletal disorders and the occurrence of occupational diseases, and also to prevent life-threatening risks to workers, professionals have invented the connected insole. First, we'll discuss the DATI\/PTI connected insole today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Connected insoles for lone worker protection (PTI) are part of the DATI\/PTI device range designed to ensure worker safety. Inserted into work shoes, they are easy to use. They require no special handling or training. They are simply worn like a normal insole in shoes. There is absolutely no need to modify the employee's workstation or work environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DATI\/PTI connected insole is equipped with numerous sensors capable of identifying a number of abnormal situations, such as detecting a fall or at least a loss of balance by the wearer. In this case, an alert is automatically triggered. It can also be a request for assistance from the worker. A lone worker can manually trigger an alert if they feel threatened. In fact, in the event of a problem or attack, they simply need to tap their foot three times to trigger an alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the alert is triggered, the wearer of the insoles can be geolocated to optimize rescue efforts if needed. The insoles also allow for the transmission of simple information to the worker. For example, prolonged vibrations may indicate that a lone worker must evacuate the worksite because a hazard has been identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Smart insoles can also be used to prevent musculoskeletal disorders and thus reduce occupational illnesses. They can measure movement and calculate the weight carried by the user, either at a specific point in time or cumulatively over a day, and transmit this information in real time to a mobile application. This allows company managers to determine whether or not they are complying with regulations regarding load-carrying limits. Furthermore, in the near future, these insoles could record all postural stresses of the foot under work-related exertion to better inform podiatrists and thus enable the design of more precise orthotic insoles. Similarly, this data collection could greatly assist physiotherapists, osteopaths, and other healthcare professionals in tailoring patient care by allowing them to better understand the underlying causes of their conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
