Connected helmets: added security without the hassle

An essential piece of equipment on a construction site, head protection now includes sensors to warn an operator of the presence of toxic gas emissions. This means that multi-gas detectors, previously carried in the pocket of a jacket or trouser (with a risk of falling or tearing, or damaging the sensors) are now fully integrated into the helmet.
This system allows on the one hand to avoid forgetting them (the worker can more easily forget his sensors on site than his helmet) and on the other hand to better protect the sensors due to the additional protection of the helmet.
Some even include glasses or a visor on which information is displayed in augmented reality.
Of course, these very useful technological advances combine with the existing technologies of headsets, and in particular those equipped with frequency-filtering hearing protection which allow the instructions of a construction site manager or a control tower to be heard very clearly in the headset, even when a jackhammer is being used 5 meters from the operator or when an airplane is taking off on the tarmac.
What seemed like a gimmick in 80s science fiction movies is now a reality for a growing number of construction site operators.
